Bentonite - Montmorillonite is a layered clay mineral that formed through the weathering of volcanic ash over 10 million years ago. Bentonite was named after the first discovery site near Fort Benton (USA). However, its exceptional properties such as enormous swelling capacity and adsorption capabilities are determined by the clay mineral Montmorillonite it contains. Its name comes from the discovery site Montmorillon in southern France. Like Zeolite-Klinoptilolite, it is an aluminosilicate and "works" as an ion exchanger and molecular sieve with very high adsorption capacities despite its different structure (being a layered clay mineral). Even the ancient Egyptians knew it and used it in many areas. However, Bentonite-Montmorillonite is still often underestimated. It even has some properties that Zeolite does not have. One of the most significant is: Bentonite-Montmorillonite, due to its strong swelling capacity as a clay mineral and its huge active surface area, forms a gel protective film on mucous membranes such as oral mucosa, esophagus, gastric mucosa, and intestine. This establishes a selective protective shield against toxins, heavy metals, and other contaminants that cannot enter the bloodstream. The metabolism and organism are relieved and strengthened. Additionally, Bentonite-Montmorillonite has a very strong mycotoxin adsorption capability.

Our Bentonite is a natural calcium-sodium Bentonite with a large proportion (over 90%) of Montmorillonite, a hydrated aluminum hydrosilicate. It complies with the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) and British Pharmacopoeia (BP) and is ground hot in a ball mill to Ø 10 µm and dried.
Furthermore, its effect on mycotoxins is even slightly stronger than Zeolite. However, Bentonite, as a clay mineral, has a small disadvantage. It's not for the impatient. When poured into liquids, it takes time to swell. One option is to prepare it in a sealed container with water so it can absorb enough liquid and swell quietly. This way, you can prepare a lot for several days. Its potency remains intact in the closed container for a longer time.

Unfortunately, the occurrence of Bentonite activated by geogenesis from the Aegean region is depleted, and our specialty supplier for this mineral has informed us that Bentonite of this quality is no longer available in Europe. Our supplier certifies Bentonite as a pharmaceutical excipient and does not want to use Bentonite activated by chemical processes. Therefore, we now have Bentonite from Fort Benton, Wyoming, the original discovery site of this mineral, after which it is also named. However, mixing with this Bentonite is a bit harder to stir than before. It is not as easily soluble in water as the other one, all mixing attempts in the system result in a completely homogeneous mixture, but it acts a bit slower in liquids when dissolving. You need to stir a little longer, which also enhances the electricity and thus the effect. This Bentonite can absorb up to 10 times its weight in water and swell up to 16 times its volume.

It is heavier than the highly fine Zeolite-Klinoptilolite from the airstream. Therefore, 1400g fit into a 2-liter can. (In contrast to the 3-liter can for the "airstream" Zeolites)
